Great Lakes Beaches and Coasts: 2010 to 2020
Living in the Great Lakes, we are fortunate to have thousands of kilometers of coasts and exceptional beaches. This living legacy requires our combined focus and increased efforts to ensure that our coasts and beaches continue to provide healthy and diverse experiences and opportunities---our connected, community treasures.
The Ontario Ministry of Environment, the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, and the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative hosted a joint workshop, Great Lakes Beaches and Coasts: 2010 to 2020 on April 15, 2010 in Toronto.
This workshop brought together over 80 provincial and municipal groups and experts working on improving Ontario’s coasts and beaches. The emphasis was on increasing provincial and municipal collaboration to better protect, restore, enjoy and promote our coasts and beaches. It was designed to increase cooperation and collaboration and to begin discussing the components of a potential beach and coastal strategy in Ontario.
Here is the workshop agenda, summary and links to downloadable presentations.
